To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we’re delighted to introduce some of the awesome and inspiring women we have working with us at Seisma Group. We hope you enjoy hearing about the work they do and their experiences as a woman working in tech.
In this post, we’d like to introduce you to Senior Salesforce Consultant Chevvanthi Thayumanavar.
Tell us a bit about your role at Seisma Group
I am a Senior Salesforce Consultant working on Public Sector Digitisation Projects.
What do you love about your job?
Opportunities to learn something new every day, and designing solutions that simplify things for a better user experience.
What first sparked your interest in the tech industry? How did you decide to go into working in your field?
The joy of fixing a code, knowing why it failed and evidencing the impact on user experience on bigger picture made me fall in love with this field.
How have things changed for women since you first joined the tech industry?
There was a time when we had to leap a little more to stand out and get recognised for what we are. Things are evolving with great leaders (men and women) to bridge the gap and I see it as ongoing progress.
What advice would you give women who are just starting their career in tech?
Learn to code. You will appreciate a strong foundation later. Consistency is the key and be brave to fail and learn.
What’s the best thing about being a woman working in tech?
The way we perceive a problem/requirement is different and it makes a big impact on overall performance of a team/organisation.
